In Massachusetts you can now ABORT your perfectly healthy, fully grown baby at ANY POINT. In Massachusetts, at 36 weeks, a mother can decide to have the state murder her child. Previously, an abortion after 24 weeks was legal only when a physician determined it was necessary to protect the mother’s life or physical or mental health, or because the fetus had a lethal or similarly grave diagnosis. Maura Healey’s new law replaces those defined conditions with a single standard… an abortion may be performed “based upon the professional judgment of the physician.” It also: Establishes no gestational cutoff, meaning abortions are legally possible through the end of pregnancy. Prohibits a hospital’s medical-review process from overriding the physician and patient. Removes the requirement that abortions after 24 weeks be performed in a hospital.
