In the presence of glyphosate resistant ryegrass the majority responded a robust glyphosate rate + spike would be their preferred effective choice. In this study glyphosate + spike is actually the least effective strategy! See below a few photos and a new predictive poll.👇

Washed out lentil areas giving some weed challenges before harvest. Full profile of moisture + no crop competition. These areas of weeds need to be managed well & the paddock will pay you back next year providing the control is good until cropping next year @CropDoctor54

In a recent large survey study across WA glyphosate resistance climbed to a worrying 13%. In 2020 we had only observed 3%! I think this result is beyond an expected fluctuation and we should make sure it’s not becoming a trend. Mix, rotate and test for resistance.

It’s been a big year in the Mallee for everything including the ryegrass. Waist high barley and these guys are poking out the top 😬 at least it’s an easy target for crop topping 🤷‍♀️

This client has had a harvest mill for a couple of years now. However, he utilised chaff decks before that. The IH Mustard is still showing up in the chaff decks from years ago! Fortunately, it is one weed that HWSC is exceptionally good at dealing with. 👍👍

The Ryegrass Resistance Test came back highly resistant to Glyphosate. One Solution? Put Oaten Hay around the outside of the Wheat. As they say “weeds aren’t resistant to metal, or being put in a bale!”. 👌👌
