Congratulations @jteoh_hk on the John K. Lattimer Lecture at #AUA26.
A well-deserved recognition for a researcher who consistently raises the bar.
We are very proud of our editor, Jeremy Teoh, who has been invited to deliver the prestigious John K. Lattimer Lecture at the AUA Annual Meeting 2026.
The Lattimer Lecture, first established in 1977, recognises new innovations and practices with the potential to revolutionise urology and medicine more broadly. Previous awardees include distinguished leaders in the field such as Vipul Patel, Ralph Clayman, Glenn Preminger, Curtis Nickel, and Ash Tewari.
Jeremy shared that he feels deeply honoured to receive this recognition as an Asian researcher and warmly invites colleagues and friends to attend the lecture at Hall D at 1:00 PM on 15 May 2026. A group photo will take place outside the hall after the lecture at approximately 1:30 PM.
Congratulations, @jteoh_hk, on this outstanding achievement!

One of the most exciting talks at #AUA26 - @jteoh_hk from @CUHKMedicine delivering the John K. Lattimer Lecture - one of the most prestigious in urology.
Jeremy is not just a friend and a colleague. He is one of the most innovative urologists of his generation and a driving force in the @IBCG_BladderCA.
Today he is challenging the status quo on TURBT. 🧵

🚺 #Bladdercancer is often seen as a “man’s disease.” But 1 in 4 people diagnosed are women.
In our new opinion piece, patient advocates Fatima Baig and Helen Lacy, together with oncologist Ananya Choudhury, explore how gender bias can lead to delayed diagnosis and overlooked symptoms.
This #InternationalWomensDay, we call for:
➡️ Greater awareness among women
➡️ Earlier recognition of symptoms
➡️ Care pathways designed with women in mind
Women with bladder cancer should no longer be unseen.

Surgery pearls by @jteoh_hk: NMIBC surgical Surgical optimization: In EB-StaR, ERBT reduced 1-yr recurrence vs standard resection. Benefit seen especially in 1 to 3 cm, single, Ta, and intermediate-risk tumors -> Quality TURBT matters.

Jeremy Teoh presents a tour de force on how to optimize TURBT in management of patients with bladder cancer including techniques such as EBRT and Robotic TUR.

@IBCG_BladderCA
It’s disappointing to me that TURBT continues to be dismissed as a “low-priority” procedure in so many training programs.
This single step defines the entire course for a bladder cancer patient. Accurate diagnosis, precise staging, and the choice of therapy all hinge on a high quality TURBT.
And the “advanced genomic analysis and molecular profiling” these same programs love to promote? It all begins with adequate, high-quality tissue obtained through a TURBT.
Yet incomplete resections leave behind residual tumor in up to 78% of cases at restaging, leading to higher recurrence rates and unnecessary progression.
If we are serious about improving outcomes in NMIBC - and even MIBC - we must treat TURBT with the respect it deserves: structured, deliberate training curricula, hands-on attending involvement, and real performance metrics.
This is why the @IBCG_BladderCA will make this one of the focus topics of our retreat this year, #IBCG26

We did 6 cases of robotic ERBT in 2 days. 100% detrusor muscle presence, 100% successful ERBT/ modified ERBT, 91% evaluable margins and clear resection margins, no grade 2 or above complications. Small number for sure but the results are indeed very promising. (3/n)

ERBT is only the beginning! Having a transurethral robotic system with different instruments (e.g.needle holder) allows us to explore new surgical approaches that can never be achieved b4. As a urologist, we should gear up for another exciting robotic journey in the future! (4/n)
