The problem is, you people want to discuss all medical issues on this app as if you’re in a medical conference room. You don’t treat your professional knowledge with the sanctity it deserves. Every small thing, cho cho cho cho cho

There is a tendency to want to tell the world how your day in the hospital was full of all sorts and for everyone to see how hard you’re working. Don’t.

Everybody is also pretending like they don't know why the reaction to Mummy Zee abi na Vee's statement in itself was attacked and defended by two different sets of people. Like I said, you can't let agenda rule how you process information.

A statement without 'like' or 'as' can still be a figure of speech = metaphor. And with our woeful maternal health indices 'Pregnancy is a death sentence' is definitely an apt one. You're the dumb one for interpreting it literally

I think health care professionals need to show a bit more restraint in wanting to be pedantic or 'correct' A person sharing the difficulty of their pregnancy on the social media isn't the time to be quoting all kinds of statistics they didn't ask you for

If you don't run You'll learn the hard way
If the man you’re planning to marry or have children with talks about pregnancy flippantly, doesn’t understand how life-altering it is, or treats it like it’s nothing special, you better run or you will suffer lol

RUN! IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF, RUN O. YOU'LL SUFFER AND NO ONE WILL UNDERSTAND.

I hate to play this card but if you're a man...kindly sit the discussion out if all you want to do is telling people how pregnancy is a walk in the park and quote statistics
I've never been pregnant but I've been very constipated before In that moment sitting on the toilet bowl, bleeding, legs shaking, worried about rupturing an undiscovered aneurysm from all that valsalva...I think I begged God to take me And that's nothing compared to delivery

Even those that are 'educating' Is anyone stupid enough to think all women think pregnancy is a LITERAL death sentence? Of course, it's just hyperbole There women are venting and that's okay That's not the time to be 'stating medical facts and stats'
I'm wise enough to know people that are educating women that pregnancy isn't a death sentence and those that are straight up dismissive of the things women go through in pregnancy. So if you're blocked, know what you did. Bye.

Me I feel the whole men Vs women war constantly happening on twitter has made people baseline antagonistic towards the opposite gender. If you have, omo you need to reset o, you can't live life like that.

Today's stupidity on the TL re: Pregnancy reminded me of the quote Prof Awoleke used in his slide on maternity mortality some 11 years ago. "I AM GOING TO THE SEA TO FETCH A NEW BABY. THE JOURNEY IS DANGEROUS AND I MAY NOT RETURN." - Tanzanian Women.

Someone might choose to go through pregnancy again because they want another child, hope for a better experience, or feel better supported and prepared. That choice doesn’t erase their previous experience or make the risks any less real. Life itself is unpredictable. You can be well one moment and critically unwell the next, but that doesn’t mean you stop living. Choosing to try again doesn’t invalidate what happened before or mean it wasn’t a life-or-death situation. P.s: Who says I won’t go again 😀😀 whilst still dealing with complications from the 1st and 2nd ..

“Pregnancy is a death sentence” is a metaphor like “life is a journey” or “time is a revealer”. Not literally true but explains its gravity. Obvious to any reasonable person. If you interpret it as saying that means pregnancy = expected or automatic death, you might be a moron.

I've spent the last few hours explaining figures of speech to people that are blinded by agenda. That's silly of me.

Let me point out that those who have chosen to miss the point do it deliberately. It is a hill they have deliberately chosen to die. A stupid hill.
My own submission to the “pregnancy is a death sentence” discourse. It wasn’t meant literally. It was said during an event, yet people are more interested in policing the language than understanding the point. It’s incredibly insensitive to bring your high moral faux pas into conversations where women are sharing the dangers of pregnancy, their traumatic experiences, and what pregnancy has cost them, especially when women has actually died from complications. We get it. You’re the better version of the “prototype woman.” You’re not like these other girls . You’re stronger, and apparently above our struggles. But sometimes, READ THE ROOM. Let women vent. Let them share their experiences, find comfort in knowing they’re not alone, bond over their struggles, and work together to find solutions to the issues that plague them.
