یہ سری نگر ہائی وے پر سپورٹس گراونڈ کے ساتھ ملحقہ گھنا بڑا جنگل ہے جسے بیچا/نیلامی کے لیے پیش کیا جارہا ہے جہاں ہوٹل بنانا ہے۔ اس جنگل کی نیلامی 12/13 اکتوبر کو ہو گی۔
اسلام آباد کا جو کچھ گرین کور رندھاوا کے کلہاڑے سے بچ گیا ہے وہ سہیل اشرف کے بلڈوزر سے نہیں بچے گا۔یہ سب گرین ایریاز ختم کررہے ہیں اور یہاں ہوٹل بنے گا۔
اسلام آباد اس وقت شدید ماحولیاتی خطرات کا شکار ہے۔ اس شہر میں جتنی جنگلات/درختوں/سبزے کی تباہی ان دو برسوں میں ہوئی ہے وہ کبھی نہیں ہوئی۔ موجودہ حکومت کا دور اسلام آباد کی خوبصورتی کے لیے تباہ کن رہا ہے۔ یہ سیاستدان اور ان کے نالائق بابوز جنہیں سبزے اور جنگلات سے نفرت ہیں پورے شہر کو گرین کور ختم کررہے ہیں۔ یہ اپنی دو تین سال کی پوسٹنگ کے بعد افسران اپنی چونچیں گیلی کر کے بقول خواجہ آصف پرتگال نکل جائیں گے اور بھگتیں گے اسلام آباد کے لاکھوں شہری اور ان کی نسلیں۔ یہ پاکستان کا ماحول برباد کرنے کے بعد یورپ ماحولیاتی الودگی کے نام پر گرانٹس لینے بھی پہنچ جاتے ہیں۔
پاکستانی ماحول اس طرح تباہ کیا جارہا ہے۔ آپ جنگل ہی بیچ دیں گے تو ماحول برباد ہی ہوگا۔ پہلے ایف ایٹ کا جنگل محمد علی رندھاوا نے تباہ کیا تو اب سہیل اشرف سپورٹس کمپلیکس والا جنگل بیچ رہا ہے۔

Rs103bn overcharged?
On August 19, the government announced a sharp reduction of Rs32.63 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).
Over the past five months, Pakistan consumed roughly 3.23 billion litres of high-speed diesel (HSD). If the recently negotiated Rs32-per-litre reduction reflects a cost that had been embedded across the entire national HSD pool, then consumers may have borne an additional burden of roughly Rs103 billion.
Red alert: Rs103 billion is not a rounding error – that is a pricing question worth answering.If Rs32 per litre could be removed after one meeting, Pakistani diesel consumers may have been paying roughly Rs14-24 billion a month more than necessary. Who was receiving that money, and under what pricing rule?
Cold truth: The government has effectively admitted that Pakistan’s diesel price is not simply a mechanical pass-through of international diesel prices. A significant share is locally refined, and the price at which refineries supply that diesel can be altered through policy or commercial negotiation. The sharp reduction also raises a serious question about the formula. If refineries can suddenly concede Rs30-32/litre, then one must ask: what were they earning before the concession, how was that margin calculated, and why was it embedded in the pump price?
The most revealing contradiction is this: only a month ago, the government described daily pricing as deregulation -- prices would follow international trends automatically, without ministerial intervention. Now the prime minister has personally intervened and the petroleum minister has negotiated a Rs30-32 reduction with refineries.
Two questions: Is the concession temporary or permanent? If Rs32 could be removed today, why was it being charged yesterday?Look closer. After a Rs32 per litre reduction, diesel in Pakistan is still 40 per cent more expensive than Bangladesh. Still 31 per cent more expensive than India. Still 14 per cent more expensive than Afghanistan -- a country with no ports, no refineries, and no functioning government. The reduction is real. The problem is not solved.
