Descendants of the ablative is actually found in some Romance language! Tho it has usually been turnt into a new gender (usually called “neuter”, not to be confused with the Latin neuter) See for example Asturian (masculine -u < -um vs “neuter” -o < -ō) or in Neapolitan

A strong aversion to morphologically deriving causatives appears to be a notable Standard Average European sprachbund feature, at least as per Haspelmath 2001
Replying to @kingsepp
Is this still productive in any Germanic language? It is in Finnish as far as I know, but that's a different language family.

Generally causative alternations in SAE favours *anti*causative derivation, thus French asseoir ~ s’asseoir “seat/sit”, German längen ~ sich längen “lengthen (tr)/lengthen (itr)” Polish zmieniać ~ zmieniać się “change (tr)/change (itr)” Amongst some examples

Alternatively you also get lability which is the preferred strategy of English: break, shatter, grow, lengthen, change…

Those are just from Celtic in general. French has lots of Gaulish loans so from Gaulish specifically you have: car, carpenter, carry, change, bulge, budget, beak, bran, beret, garter, cream, javelin, palfrey, vassal, valet, bourbon

The stock English phrase in Hong Kong is “I go to school by bus”
Many people make jokes about having poor/basic knowledge of another language using certain stock phrases. English speakers say in Spanish, “¿dónde está la biblioteca?” Portuguese speakers say in English, “the book is on the table.” Do you know any other phrases like this?

One of my favorite cross cultural weirdness facts is that there's a whole genre of Jewish themed self help books in China, suspiciously similar to western books that teach you the secrets of eastern wisdom, tiger parenting, etc. (with about as much connection to reality).
One of my more amusing China stories: I was with some friends at a pork kebab (i.e. 猪肉串) restaurant in Jinan in 2015. A couple very drunk Chinese guys came over and started talking to us, offering shots of baijiu

Genuinely infuriating this god forsaken algorithm is pushing me posts from 簡中. Not just that but the chuddiest 簡中 bullshit. At least threads still gives me some actually good 中 stuff
